My Name is Chicka, Chicka
Well I am a big chicken, cry baby, brownsider. I didn't shoot FCGF at the Uprising. I did blast away on the last two stages with BP SG shells, Ye'llin I need smoke, gimme a smoke screen and whutnot. I figured I was so slow it wouldn't hurt ta have sum BP FUN. I even took a bird wid it.

Yeah, I was busy afor the match. Yeah, I ain't pulled da handle on a loader since the "Smoke out weekend" 5th weekend. Yeah my back is bad, so I'll just hafta read up some more. After all we ain't even got into the "BIG GUNS" Yet!
Last weekend I was able ta "scrounge up" enough 45's for one stage in Eden. What a Stage! I even missed Ol' Fluffy! I gave my camera ta I-ROD ta take pictures wid. Seems someone changed the settings, and it took mini films? Normal size picture but 16 or so small shots. Very hard ta get photos out of, way cool to watch replay in the camera. That's another thing I gotta read...The Camera Manual. We had a LARGE TIME shooting in Eden NC if ya haven't been Ya need to. The folks up there treat ya right.
Last stage the Bunkhouse.
I love my Shotgun! Check out the FOG! I wasted a lot of shells that day. I had to shoot one target at the "Bank" 4 times! I know I hit it and it started back, then stopped, I hit it again and still no joy, Loaded two more and WHOOM! Both barrels....she fell that time by golly!
Sorry ta let ya'll down at the "Uprising"
I just was not Physically, Mentally or Logistically able to do it. I knew it would take some time for "the change" because of Health issues.Lately I been feeling like a Zombie at work and worse when I get home. Not conducive to proper "Loading Room" focus. OK, "Loading- Cramped up, unorganized, bolted to the Carpentry Bench, spread out all over the shop,-Area.

Darksider Posse
Double Wahoo! Sunday I was once again possed with the Grand-Poo-Ba. That Sultan of Swat, Royal Barns! He was Blowing em' away with that Monster 10 Boar. I even killed a target with my rifle. I like "Knock-Downs"! I shot pretty poorly both days but........
I had Big Fun!
his weekends Smokeout would not have been possible with out a Most Generous donation of the proper SG shells by His Grace, Royal Barns! Thanks for the "other thing" earlier in the day too. " He said I looked "Sharp". Quite a compliment, coming from a King of Cowboy attire.
"We choose to do these things, not because they are easy, but because they are difficult."
I chose to shoot GF because it is the Hardest, (and coolest) category. The difficulty begins with sighting both pistols and ends with the transitions. All more difficult, than the "other ways" to shoot.
Then, I improved enough to beat a certain someone, so.....I needed to add more difficulty re:SMOKE!
Why did I choose to make it harder on myself? Because that's what's FUN, to me. Gaming the BP category ? Of course I'm gonna game it. Wind blows that way. I'll start with that target. How to make more smoke with less recoil, I'm werking on it. Wrist breaking loads? No thanks! Maybe one day when I'm all growed up, but Safety first!
Saturday I tried to shoot the 45's both LC in the rifle and the 45 spcl. in the pistol on my last two stages in Iredell (stages 3 & 4). Woe was me! I left 4 plates with the pistol. (Had 10 shots and lucked up once.) No idea as to where the bullets really hit. OK, I know they hit the berm, just not the steel. I was able to get them with the rifle on the next stage, but I flubbed up, and shot the pistols WRONG! Hit em all but still had a P.
I am going to keep shooting the 38's because, right now, I don't feel comfortable shooting 45's. (Heck even 38's are "warm" loads to me.) I may need to adjust the powder down a notch as they were even hotter than I'd remembered from my few "test" rounds (3f 777?).
The Smoking 45 Rifle rounds were fun, it's hard to see the "Star" in the FOG!
I'll never give up! But, I do realize my comfort zone, and my skill level (very low) must be considered.
If you've ever wondered why I do the things I do, shoot the way I shoot, or just, "What the ell is he thinking". I'm thinking FUN! That's all. That's it. The whole thing is about FUN, and it is, " A whole lotta Fun."
Week two as a "Proper Shoot-oligist".
I finally had time to set up and make a few 45 rounds yesterday. A 45 LC "Colt" round, even with a 160 gr. bullet is ........ uncomfortable for me to shoot out of the pistol. 777 is a hotter powder than "BP" , so maybe the "real deal" will be less...???... "warthog-ish". It took a few tries to find the correct "disk" combination to drop the right amount, but I've got it now! I guess I'll have to start all over when the "goot stuff" get's here.
I also set up my dies for the "45 Special" brass. Now we're talkin'!!!! That is a very nice round with the 777 load. The recoil was more to my liking.
Can't wait to start throwing the lead downrange powered by the "Green powder". Yep! BP is Green. All the "elements" are found in 'Nature", and you don't need any "Chemicals" for cleaning. Thus the "One true Powder" is " Green". BP powered car?
Get Back to Nature, and Shoot BP! Save the Planet, Shoot BP! Go green, shoot BP! That will get the "Tree Huggers" attention. I'll make Republicans outta them Yet! I'm really a Libertarian, (Tell Uncle Sam to "Leave me alone," and "Mind yer bidness"!) Dang, Hijacked my own post.
Does this sound right to you guys? Given the same amount of powder, a 160 gr. hits low and a 200gr. hits POI. I would expect the 160 to hit higher than a 200. I know, operator error, may come into play, it was, me holdin the gun.
Summary: 777 powder 45 LC rounds are too "Hot" for me in the pistol. 777 powder 45 Special rounds are cool. What's up with the relationship between powder charge and Bullet weight?
See y'all in the FOG soon!
Capt. Chaos, Fill em' up and Let em' rip!
More experimentation and results to follow......
